GP Rating Sponsorship Exam 2025

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: The candidate should be between 17.5 years to 25 years of age.

Educational Qualification: Minimum 10th grade or 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Medical Fitness: Candidates must meet the medical fitness standards set by the Merchant Navy.

Important Instructions For GP Rating Selection – 2025

Pre-Sea Training Requirement:

Candidates selected for the GP Rating program will be required to complete a six-month Pre-Sea Training Course along with essential modular courses. The training will be provided by our partnered institutes.

Medical & Psychometric Evaluation:

Following the interview, candidates selected for the GP Rating program must undergo a medical examination and psychometric assessment. The cost for these evaluations will be the responsibility of the candidate.

Online Test for Eligible Candidates:

An online test will be held for eligible candidates at their designated locations. The schedule and login credentials for the online test will be shared with shortlisted candidates via email.

Interview and Selection Process:

Based on the results of the online test, candidates may be shortlisted for an interview.

  • All expenses related to travel, accommodation, and boarding during the selection process must be borne by the candidate.
  • Candidates are required to bring original documents of their 10th and 12th Class Certificates and Degree/Diploma Certificate. Candidates who are currently appearing for these examinations are also eligible to apply.

Selection Discretion:

The selection criteria and process are determined solely by Briton Marines Shipping Pvt. Ltd. and are subject to change as per the company's policies.

Selection Process

  1. Step 1:Submit your application online at our website.
  2. Step 2:Upon successful submission, you will receive an email containing a link for the online examination. The test can be taken from any location with a stable internet connection. The email will include login details and instructions for the examination. Please ensure that the contact information (email and phone number) you provide is accurate, as the test link and further instructions will be sent to the provided email address.
  3. Step 3:Candidates who meet the required score in the online examination, as outlined in the examination guidelines, will receive an invitation via email to attend a personal interview at our Navi Mumbai office. Specific venue details will be shared in the invitation. Please note, the interview venue and schedule are determined solely by Briton Marines Shipping and candidates will not be allowed to select their preferred date.
  4. Step 4:Candidates selected in the personal interview will be required to undergo a medical examination conducted by the company’s panel doctor.
  5. Step 5:Following the interview and medical examination, selected candidates will be notified via email, based on a comprehensive assessment that includes academic performance, online examination scores, interview results, and medical examination outcomes.
  6. Step 6:Shortlisted candidates will be required to make a seat booking payment to secure their place in the program. Additionally, candidates will need to submit the necessary documentation to our DG Shipping-approved institute. Specific instructions for document submission will be provided.
  7. Step 7:Upon receipt of the seat booking payment, candidates will be issued a Sponsorship Letter from Briton Marines Shipping and an Admission Letter from our associated DG Shipping-approved college. These documents will enable candidates to apply for education loans to fund their training.
